  20. Info like this is now stored in the registry.  The actual files are
  21. system.dat and user.dat: they can be inspected and modified VERY MUCH
  22. AT YOUR OWN RISK by the registry editor (program windows\regedit.exe)

  24. Modem info will be found by opening the tree in the left hand pane
  25. down to 
  26. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\Modem
